Experience with control buildings, substations, industrial construction, electrical work, mechanical installation, rigging, cranes, HVAC, welding, or equipment commissioning is valuable. However, practical ability, sound judgment, reliability, and a willingness to learn are equally important.
Field Opportunities
PGS periodically has opportunities for:
A Lead Structural Technician takes complete ownership of a project from the moment it is assigned until the customer signs off and the paperwork is submitted. They are responsible for planning, preparation, travel logistics, customer communication, crew leadership, safe execution, quality, documentation, and project closeout. They anticipate problems before they occur, solve issues independently, and ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently, and to PGS standards with minimal oversight. Their goal is to make the project successful while giving the customer complete confidence in Precision Grid Services.
Preferred qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Able and willing to travel extensively throughout the United States
- Financially able to support travel expenses for up to two weeks before receiving reimbursement or payroll (including access to a personal credit card)
- 5+ years construction experience required
- Experience operating or working around heavy equipment
- Experience leading a team through complicated projects

A Lead Electrical Technician is an experienced electrical professional from the utility substation industry who takes complete ownership of the electrical scope from the moment a project is assigned until the customer signs off and all documentation is submitted. They are responsible for planning, customer communication, crew leadership, electrical installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and project closeout. They have a thorough understanding of substation control houses, protection and control systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and industry standards, allowing them to execute work independently while representing PGS with professionalism and technical excellence.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in utility substations and control house integration
- Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems
- Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Experienced in electrical testing and troubleshooting
- NETA Certification preferred or required for commissioning and testing roles
